Geoff Weaver’s self-effacing introduction says volumes about the man and his place in the world. 

“I’m a South Australian winemaker and srtist proud to care for a 12ha Lenswood vineyard,” he announces on his website.

While he is best known for the first of those guises, having built a highly honoured career both at the big end of town, as chief winemaker for the Hardy’s group back in the 1970s and early ’80s, and from then as one the finest artisan wine producers in the Adelaide Hills, his other side, as an artist, reveals a lot about the man and his connection to the landscapes of South Australia, both locally and into the Outback where a lot of his painting occurs.
